The first birth of the year was recorded in the City of Eagle Pass at approximately 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. The healthy baby boy weighed in at 7 pounds 7 ounces. Medical staff and Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu were on hand to congratulate and acknowledge the parents of the child Juan Carlos and Cindy Gómez. Also in attendance was Dr. Carlos Hernandez.   El primer nacimiento del año fue registrado en la ciudad de Eagle Pass aproximadamente a las 4:00 p.m. el domingo 1 de enero en el Hospital Fort Duncan. El bebé sano pesaba 7 libras y 5 onzas.

  Las autoridades médicas y el alcalde de Eagle Pass, Ramsey English Cantu, estuvieron presentes para felicitar y reconocer a los padres del niño Juan Carlos y Cindy Gómez.
