Maverick County Hospital District welcomes Judith Birungi, MD 

Board Certified General Surgeon is newest addition to the Physician Specialty Group at the Hospital District 

Juan Manuel Farias, Maverick County Hospital District Chairman and Terri Patlan-Contreras, Chief Executive Officer are pleased to announce the addition to the Physician Specialty Group medical professional team Judith Birungi, MD  and will be seeing patients at the Physician Specialty Group at 3406 Bob Rogers Drive suite 120

 Dr. Judith Birungi is a Board Certified General Surgeon by the American Board of Surgery.  She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the St. George’s University; St. George’s Grenada, West Indies.  She then completed her residency at State University New York Upstate Medical University, in Syracuse, New York.  Dr. Birungi as a General Surgeon practitioner performs various surgeries including inguinal and abdominal hernias, lipoma excisions, breast lumpectomies, and breast mastectomies, gall bladder surgery etc.  She is also trained in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support.  When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Birungi enjoys running, church, music, movies and books.
