The 16th National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, was held Tuesday, October 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Eagle Pass residents crowded the Academy Sports + Outdoors parking lot where the event was taking place while members of several organizations had booths set up ready to give presentations.
The AirEvac Life Team was at the event, and showed children the inside of the helicopter they use to airlift people to the receive medical attention. Border Patrol showed children two of their patrol boats; CBP presented children with information on the dangers of drugs; along with DARE officers. Also present were the DARE mascot and Sparky the Fire Dog.
