A video of CC Winn High Schools’ 16 de Sepiembre pep rally, posted by the Maverick Band Booster Facebook page, has received more than 2 million views from people across the country. Many viewers have commented positively on how the school allowed students to show pride in their heritage, in which Silverline Dance Team and Silverline Cowboys, Thundering Maverick Band, and Mav Cheer squad performed. EPISD PIO Daniella Byrne who donated decorations said the Silverline Dance Team, who hosted the rally, did not expect such a huge response. “What it really comes down to is that Silverline and their sponsor Ms. Denisse Villarreal really put their hearts into that pep rally. They just wanted to put on a good show for their campus and have a good time,” said Byrne, a former Silverline sponsor herself. “I know how much they had to donate to pay for that dj, those long hours to decorate that gym. To see it become so fruitful is definitely a rewarding experience and I’m so proud of them.”
