“This significant seizure by our officers demonstrates the teamwork they accomplish every day at our port,” said Port Director John Brandt, Eagle Pass Port of Entry. “Our officers’ team effort assisted in uncovering this load and prevent it from arriving to its destination.”

In the morning hours of Sept. 13, the officers at Eagle Pass International Bridge, inspected a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a U.S. citizen, as it arrived from Mexico. Officers utilized a K-9 and a non-intrusive imaging system for inspection and discovered nine packages of alleged narcotics within the rear quarter panel of the vehicle. CBP officers retrieved four packages of alleged crystal methamphetamine, two packages of alleged hashish and three packages of alleged marijuana. Officers seized a total of 4.63 pounds of methamphetamine, 3.59 pounds of marijuana and 3.95 pounds all worth an estimated $105,754.40.

CBP officers seized the vehicle and narcotics. The driver, a 21-year-old man from Pearsall, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigations.
