Hearing set for cocaine distribution ring

23 of the 24 people arrested in Maverick and Zavala counties for involvement in a cocaine distribution conspiracy are scheduled to appear in court in front of US Magistrate Judge Victor Roberto Garcia for a detention hearing Monday, August 29. 

The 23 include :Sonia Balboa, 52; Sucel Balboa,27;  Baldemar Balboa, 24; Wilibaldo Mora, Sr, 50; Wilibaldo Mora, Jr,23; Jorge Rivera, 37; Pura Garza Esquivel,49; Santa Teresa Lopez,48; Angel Lee Ramirez,28; David Dávalos, Sr,47; David Dávalos, Jr,26; Jacinto Dávalos, 41; Maricela Alvarado Dávalos, 32; Bruce Dávalos, 34;  Gerardo Figueroa, 50; Robert Telles, 49; Ramiro Ramirez, 55; Ronald Dávalos,46; Rogelio Davila, Sr, 61; Arturo Hernandez, 38; Arnoldo Almedia, 57; and Abelardo Rodriguez, 24; Simon Contreras, 59.

The one subject out of the original 24 arrested that is not scheduled for court on Monday is  23-year-old Rogelio “Roy” Davila, Jr of Crystal City.

30-year-old Joseph Garza of Crystal City, previously considered a fugitive, has now been arrested and will also be facing a detention hearing on Monday.

Santa Teresa Lopez and Sucel Balboa were both previously employed by EPISD as elementary and high school teachers, respectively.
