On August 23, at approximately 4:45 p.m., agents from the Eagle Pass Station, conducting linewatch operations along the Rio Grande River, observed a male subject struggling to stay above water. The agents were unable reach the subject with rescue devices due to the distance from the river bank. Agents immediately notified the Border Patrol Marine unit, who quickly responded to the area and reached the subject’s location, safely pulling him onto the boat. The subject was determined to be a 16-year-old Honduran national with no legal status to remain in the United States.
The 16-year-old Honduran juvenile sustained no injuries and required no medical attention. He was then transported to the Eagle Pass South Station for processing, per CBP guidelines.
