State Representative Pete Gallego was on hand Friday Evening at the EPISD Sports Complex Football Stadium as the Del Rio Rams came into town to take on the Eagle Pass Eagles. Thousands of fans streamed into the stadium in hopes that their team would come out on top of this decades-long rivalry. A sea of blue and white came with their uniformed noise-makers on one side and a complete sell-out on the home side decked out in Burnt Orange and White were on hand early to witness the potential District 29-AAAAA Championship. Del Rio dominated early and their defense stifled the Eagle Attack that came back last week to defeat Laredo United, coming away with a 49-0 win with one game remaining in the regular season.
