The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 A.M. on Sunday when a young driver lost control of the vehicle and plowed through the cyclone fence of the public swimming pool facility and into the empty pool. When the truck came to a stop, it ended up in a horizontal position within the pool and with a broken front axel as its front left wheel had come off completely due to the impact. The driver identified as Cesar Rodriguez, 21, was driving down Memorial Drive, the street that travels directly through the Maverick County Cemetery when he ran right through the fence and into the pool causing $5,000.00 damage according to initial reports. The man and his passenger were unharmed, but were evaluated medically and then released. According to sources, another vehicle may have been involved and details as to how the truck may have ended up crashing through the fence, all that is known at this time is that the vehicle in fact ended up falling into the six foot pool.
