The Eagle Pass Eagles had to battle more than just the Alexander Bulldogs on Friday night at the Sports Complex Football Stadium. Aaron Swain, brother of last year's Bulldog QB Brian Swain, was leading Alexander's offense and Xavier Scaggs, one of the leading rushers in the district, into town. The Bulldogs struck first on a 60 yard pass play from Swain to Mark Losoya on a magnificent pass play to put Alexander up early. The extra point was no good. Swain connected with Alex Bryand on a fourth down pass play to make it 13-0.

The Bulldogs converted still another fourth down to go up by 20. The Eagles had some quality runs from Carlos Villarreal and quarterback Ty Chisum connected with receivers Kevin Ruiz, Chris Perez, RJ Gomez and RJ Ruiz, but it was not enough to get us into the endzone and we were forced to bring in our punting unit. It wasn't until the fourth quarter with Alexander up 27-0 and still firing that Evan Gloria intercepted a Swain delivery and nearly took it into the endzone, stopped at the three yard line. Chisum handed off to Willie Lopez who took it in for the lone Eagle score. The Eagles travel to Laredo to take on the Laredo United South Panthers next week.
