Eagle Pass

Eagle Pass Detectives are working to analyze video surveillance cameras on International Bridge II in order to attempt to detect the exact moment when the inert explosive device which was found midway between the bridge which closed it down for six hours on Wednesday. Aldo Escamilla informed The News Gram that the International Bridge System has surveillance cameras set up all along the bridge but they do not know if those cameras can reach to the middle of the bridge.

He said that he could not give too many details as the investigation is ongoing at this time, however the images provided by these cameras can be very important to finding those responsible. The device was disarmed and remains in the custody of the eagle Pass Police Department for further analysis. The lieutenant said that the object was found near the sidewalk of the pedestrian crossing where pedestrians cross from Eagle Pass to Piedras Negras and it is believed that whoever left the object may have been crossing from Eagle Pass to Piedras Negras and may have left it some time early in the morning or earlier in the day. Another theory is that it may have been left by someone crossing in a vehicle from Piedras Negras who may have dropped it and returned back into Mexico. The investigation continues as this incident came just prior to the night of intense terror that our neighbors to the south lived on Wednesday when a literal war zone broke out between armed civilians and law enforcement officials.
