According to sources CEO George Kypuros and Dr. Juan Saucedo have officially been relieved of their duties with the United Medical Centers. While no official word has been released by UMC Board President Jose De Luna, Assistant Administrator/Grant Administrator Mario Pola who is now the Interim CEO of UMC stated he was unable to give any official statement in regards to the matter and directed any questions to the Board President.
The reasons behind the dismissal continue to be speculated as Kypuros has been on administrative leave since on or before August 11th.
Tere Carmona, Director of Human Resources did state that since this matter deals directly with human resources it is confidential information and was also unable to provide a statement. No official word has been given since their Thursday meeting even though repeated attempts have been made by this publication to acquire official word of the dismissal of both the CEO and Dr. Saucedo.
What is known is that Mr. Kypuros has been at the forefront of the tri-county community health center for thirty five years. The United Medical Centers have grown to three different locations here locally including their location on Veterans Boulevard, Eidson Road and the new El Indio Highway location.
Sources indicated of an internal investigation which was conducted by an independent firm of attorneys specialized in personnel matters.
The results of said investigation may not be made public at any given time after this meeting, however we expect an official statement from administration in relation to the matter may be forthcoming.
