On Saturday, the members of several of the most outstanding women to ever play the game of softball here in the city league back in the hey days of the fabulous Chargers, the red & white pinstriped masters of the city league where Dora Garza and her teammates lived many a championship on this very field.

Well on Saturday a fitting tribute to the longtime softball enthusiast was held where many of her teammates some of whom were on hand to participate others may have not, players such as Denise Garza, Chela Surita, Dora Matthiwos, Dora Gutierrez, Lety Valdez, Maricela Garza, Mirru Sanchez, Rosy Castillo, Ana Castillo, Marisela Cerda, Yolanda Rodriguez, Laura Ramos, Melissa Mathiwos and Margie Mejia. 

These and many others put on their jerseys and baseball pants for decades under the names of CJ's, the Chargers, The So Hots, The Mavericks, Eagle Pass Auto Wrecking, The Royals and the Magnificent Charlie's Angels to play the grand game of softball and carry on the tradition that our Eagle Pass Lady Eagles and CC Winn Lady Mavericks carry on to this very day.
