Jimenez Guilty; Faces up to 10 Years

A Maverick County jury convicted Juan Carlos Jimenez, 35, of the offense of Possession of Cocaine, which occurred on April 13, 2012 behind Gerardo's Bar located on El Indio Highway in Eagle Pass.

Assistant District Attorneys Alberto Rodriguez and Rene Muñoz represented the State of texas in this jury trial that began on Monday, April 17th.

Presentation of evidence concluded Wednesday morning and it took the jury three hours to return with the verdict after conclusion of opening arguments.

Jimenez will be sentenced on October 1st at 10:00 AM.

The punishment range for this offense is from two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000.00 fine.

District Attorney Roberto Serna stated that drug cases will be vigorously prosecuted by the Office of the District Attorney in order to protect our neighborhoods, our schools and our children.
