Del Rio Border Patrol Agents seize narcotics worth approximately $400K

Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents made significant marijuana seizures weighting more than 400 pounds.

                                                     

Sept. 6, Eagle Pass South Station agents working in an area ranch discovered three abandoned military-style duffel bags. The bags contained nearly 200 pounds of marijuana worth $159,216.

Sept. 7, Carrizo Springs Station agents attempted to stop a 2009 Ford pick-up traveling on Farm Road 2688. The driver failed to yield and after a short pursuit agents were able to locate the abandoned vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed five packages containing 110.6 pounds of marijuana worth $88,480 and 29 500-ml bottles of veterinary grade Amino-lite worth $76,000. 

Sept. 8, Eagle Pass South Station agents working near the Rio Grande River were notified by an Office of Air and Marine helicopter pilot flying in the area of two abandoned military-style duffel bags floating against the riverbank on the U.S. side. When agents approached the area, they recovered the duffle bags which contained 84.90 pounds of marijuana worth $67, 920.

September 10, Eagle Pass Station agents working in an area ranch discovered three abandoned cellophane wrapped packages. The packages contained 6.6 pounds of marijuana worth $5,280.

All cases were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for prosecution.
