NEWARK, N.J. (AP) —
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump plans to visit the Mexico-Texas border on Thursday.
The billionaire businessman and reality TV star, who has been dominating the GOP primary race since he announced his candidacy last month, will travel to Laredo, Texas on Thursday.
His campaign has announced that Trump will hold a press conference at the border and meet with members of the union that represents border control agents. He'll address the law enforcement community at a local reception hall.
Trump has spoken in incendiary terms about illegal immigrants, describing them as criminals and rapists in his announcement speech.
He has also been criticized by many in his party for mocking Sen. John McCain's status as a war hero because he was captured in Vietnam.
