"It's been going great. Once again we had a good turnout. We want to thank the parents especially for trusting us with their kids," stated Eagle Basketball Coach Neto Reyes who was proactively encouraging the kids during shooting drills while benefitting from the assistance of his coaches and volunteers, "We had 62 kids this summer. We worked on the three fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting for these kids to take these skills and transfer them onto the court when they participate with their respective teams in the Parks and Recreation Leagues, junior high and high school."
Diego Nava, Julian Caballero, Ricardo Rodriguez, Jaime Flores and Sergio Ruiz provided assistance to the campers in lining them up or breaking them up into groups to maximize their time and reps on the court. Overall this program is touching the future of our city's basketball programs at both junior highs and high schools as Coach Caballero pointed out some very skilled and talented youngsters, both boys and girls, from both sides of Main Street who will be big names in the future of the game James A. Naismith invented so many years ago.
