The city will have 56 police officers, participating deputies, police department officials, EPISD police and constables on patrol during this important weekend. All in order to provide a greater sense of security to the nearly 14,000 people that the Parks and Recreation Department is expecting to attend this event which brings great entertainment, food and admission is free. The police department will be investing about $14,000 in overtime for the 4th of July weekend. The 4th of July Parade is slated to begin at 11 a.m. and from 12 noon to 5 pm patrons will be treated to a Car Show at Shelby Park between Rio Grande and Bryan St. People are asked to not bring alcoholic beverages as they will be selling soft drinks and beer at the event but patrons are also asked to bring their chairs. The culminating event of the 4th of July Fireworks Show will begin at 10 p.m.

El sargento Escareño, informó que el departamento de policia tiene  programa la seguridad para el próximo sabado 4 de Julio Solo la ciudad tendra 56 oficiales de policia, participan los diputados, policia del departamento de EPISD y oficiales de los Contestables.  Todo con el fin de brinda mayor seguridad a las casi 14,000  personas que espera el departmento de Parques y Recreacion asistan a este evento ya que traen artistas del primer nivel y la entrada es gratis. Solo el departmento de policia gasta cerca de $14,000 en overtime.  El 4 de Julio a las 11 sera el desfile por la Main, y de 12 del medio dia a las 5p.m. se llevará  a cabo un Car Show esto en el Shelby Park entre la Rio Grande y Bryan. Se pide a la gente que por favor no lleven bebidas alcoholicas, porque en el evento  se estaran vendiendo refrescos y cerveza y antojitos mexicanos,  pero si  se le pide que lleven sus sillas.  A las 10 de la noche sera la  quema de fuegos artificiales (fireworks) que es la maxima celebranció del 4 de Julio  fiestas de la Indendencia.
