The odor and foul smell is more evident on Caleta Circle where the stench seems to be coming from a patch of unkept, high grass where drainage lines run.
Citizens showed us where water which comes up from the sewer system has been collecting causing the smell as well as providing effective breeding grounds for hundreds of mosquitoes and toads who can be seen when the waters emerge.
The residents fear for the spread of bacteria or disease and they are complaining because of the fact that they cannot come outside on their lawns due to the strong smell of contaminated drainage.
They say they have contacted city offices and officials have come by several times to check on the problem, however it has yet to be solved.
According to them, the appraisal district has valued some of their homes at over $250,000.00 and they are upset that they cannot get to the city's help when they need it.
