Submitted by Pct. 4 Commissioner Roberto Ruiz

Due to the continuing rains throughout the area the problem with street potholes continues to bother the county drivers.

Pct. 4 Commissioner Roberto Ruiz asserts that he is aware of the difficulties that the crews of the Road and Bridge Dept. have to keep up with the damages to the county streets and roads.

"We are asking our citizens for patience with this problem since the rains continue to be relentless throughout Maverick County and practically we get rain on a daily basis making very difficult for our crews to be effective patching the potholes," mentioned Ruiz.

He also said that the Dura Patch machine used to fix the damaged streets is working but will soon let make over with new contraptions.

A certified technician contacted by Ruiz during the last Annual South Texas Commissioners and Judges conference was in town this week to advise overhaul implements needed to make the job of fixing the potholes more effective and quicker.
