Tremendous Year for “Mighty Eagle Band”

    The Mighty Eagle Band ended a very successful 2014-2015 year.  The Eagle Band garnered its 34th consecutive UIL 1st Division thus qualifying for the UIL Area Marching Contest.  The EPHS Symphonic band under the direction of Mr. David M Solis received a “Sweepstakes Award” as did the Eagle Pass Jr. High Non Varsity band under the direction of Mrs. Maribel Lozano.  EPJ Varsity Band under the direction of Mr. Arnaldo Menchaca received a 1st division in Concert.
    The Indoor Percussion under the direction of Mr. Angel Mario Trevino and Indoor Color Guard under the direction of Ms Korina Meza both competed at the TECA competitions and Placed  2nd place in 3 competions and 1st. at the Canyon High School Contest thus qualifying for the State Finals.  Both the EPHS Percussion and the Guard were State runner ups.


    Other results that completed the overall Music Program at the Jr. High and High School level include 25 EPJ students being selected to the All Region Band, 18 EPHS band members making the Region 11 District and Region Band.  Two students qualified for the TMEA Area tryouts.  The Jazz Band under the direction of Mr. Martin Padilla had a Bass Guitar Player make the All Region Jazz band and placed 9th at the state level. The Music program also included the Mariachi “Aguilas Del Norte” receiving an 1st Division at the MASBA Area Contest and qualified for the State Finals.  In addition to being invited to perform at the Open Air Rotunda for EAGLE PASS DAY at the State Capitol, the group played at various civic and community events.
    The Staff and Members of the Mighty Eagle Band wish to thank the community, our Parents and our Administration for the enormous support given to them over the years.  In addition we greatly appreciate everyone who has ever been associated with the Mighty Eagle Band Program.
