Hector Chavez, Public Works Director, informed The News Gram that some streets may be closed due to the work being done at certain corners and the City apologizes beforehand to all motorists who may be inconvenienced by the construction. These newly designed walkways give the city a different look and a more modern feel, especially to those patrons who frequent the downtown area. The crossings will be redesigned from Ceylon to Commercial. The City of Eagle Pass also reminds business owners downtown that they may apply for grants that are currently available to remodel the facades of their businesses with matching funds up to $10,000.00. All these projects are to increase traffic downtown and to make the downtown area more attractive to all who visit.
