Eagle Pass, Texas-

The Boys and Girls Club of Eagle Pass and the Eagle Pass Kentucky Fried Chicken announced a contribution that will sponsor 10 children in the Boys and Girls Club’s Summer Program.

The Eagle Pass Kentucky Fried Chicken at 1933 Garrison Street hosted Club leaders, presented a check for $1,500 toward the Summer Program, and passed out cookies in celebration. The contribution will cover the cost of 10 children participating in the program.

“On behalf of the Boys and Girls Club board members, staff, members and volunteers, we thank local KFC manager, Ruben Recio, for donating to our club,” Eagle Pass director Alfonso Mallen said. “Your contribution makes it possible for us to achieve upcoming events and programs that the Boys & Girls Club has to offer. We strive to help our kids meet essential daily needs and work toward a brighter future with programs and education.”

Recio, who has managed the restaurant for more than 20 years, said the Eagle Pass KFC is proud to partner with the Boys and Girls Club.

“The Boys and Girls Club has done so much for the kids in this community over the years,” Recio said. “This Summer Program provides kids in need with a safe place to have fun and learn.  KFC and all the people who work here are excited to be associated with such an important program.”

In addition to the contribution, KFC provided coupons to children in the program.

The Boys and Girls Club of Eagle Pass provides young people with a fun, safe and constructive after-school environment and offers programs and services designed to build character development and strengthen life skills. The club is open to children ages six to 18 and has a special focus on children and teens from challenging or disadvantage circumstances.
