New County Auditor Sandy Watkins was on hand Monday attending her first Commissioner’s Court meeting and giving her Monthly auditor’s report which was unanimously approved by the court.
We took the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to extend a welcome to the former auditor for Kinney County who said she hails from Carrizo Springs. When asked if this in fact was her first assignment as new auditor, Watkins had the following to say, “I’m very excited to be here. As part of the statute, I did my part to give a recap of receipts and disbursements. The report is prepared by the auditor’s office,” stated Watkins in reference to the report as Assistant Auditors Karla Mazuka and Luis Rodriguez accompanied her on this night, “There were no adjustments made, it wasn’t a financial presentation, it’s just basically a printout of what’s in our books at the end of April.
