City officials have not released any official information regarding the matter as of press time but Daniel Valenzuela has been hired as the new City Manager for San Angelo. The other four applicants were: Christopher Coffman, who has been City Manager for Sealy, Texas, a city in the Houston area with a population of 6,000 since 2008; Jared Miller, who was an Assistant City Manager in North Richland Hills, a city of 63,000 in Tarrant County who claims to have loose ties to the city of San Angelo and whose claim to fame is to have passed a $70,000,000.00 bond election there to build a new city hall; Susan Thorpe, who has been a city manager in Peoria, Arizona a city of 154,000 who has held several related positions there since 2006; and Melissa Vossmer, a thirty year veteran who has also worked in Waco, most recently was the city manager in Angleton, Texas. Valenzuela has definitely left his mark on Eagle Pass as an exceptional financial advisor and administrator who has accomplished much in his short time in our fair city.
