The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers and local groups, teams, and organizations who would like to assist in this year's clean-up campaign to contact the Chamber. The event which will be held on October 6th from 8:00 A.M. to Noon, will be a grand clean-up effort which will happen in downtown Eagle Pass and will clean up streets, sidewalks, and public parks and at the same time, will give a more positive outlook on the appearance of our city to visitors, shoppers and tourists. Sandra Martinez said that this campaign has been held in previous years and has been very successful and has also united many volunteers including many students.

Any organizations are welcomed to join, but children under the age of 18 will have to have parental consent. Martinez added that the reunion point this year will be the Chamber of Commerce parking lot, it is from here that the students will be divided into groups and will be taken to several areas of the city. The City of Eagle Pass will also be supporting the clean-up efforts by collecting the trash and disposing of it properly. After the campaign, all volunteers will be treated to a meal and refreshments on behalf of the Chamber.  This is the first clean-up campaign organized by the city this year.
