De La Torre mentioned that there have been several cases reported in our schools, but school officials have taken a greater interest in these cases and hope to avert them altogether this year in order to protect past victims of bullying. De La Torre mentioned that it can manifest itself in verbal aggression, physical abuse which can result in criticism of how a child is dressed, what that child's social beliefs are among other causes. In no way, shape or form is bullying allowed in our public schools. District Police authorities have been constantly monitored in our schools and are establishing diverse programs which can dissuade this behavior and assist our students in being stress-free when attending EPISD public schools. The D.A.R.E. Program is one which addresses this issue and can adversely affect the academic progress of a child who has fallen victim to this type of abuse and detection is of vital importance in the solution before the case results in difficult consequences.
