The Houston investors presented their plans to the City Planning Department as well as blueprints and layouts and an architect's rendering of what the facility will look like once completed. The $2.6 million dollar hotel will be under construction in approximately 30 days. These investors had actually planned to begin construction of the Comfort Inn in 2009 just as the economic crunch began to hit national banks and they were not able to get funding at that time. The hotel comes in at a very opportune time as they will surely alleviate the pressure felt by all area hotels due to the advent of the Eagle Ford Shale Project. As our economy continues to thrive, so does the need for hotel space in Eagle Pass and the Comfort Inn & Suites will soon be here to give tourists and visitors yet another option as far as comfort and relaxation right off of Main Street and right on the waterfront of Maverick County Lake as the path to a larger, greater Eagle Pass continues to forge on.

A group of Houston investors are planning to bring yet another hotel chain to Eagle Pass as the Comfort Inn & Suites will proudly be built along side the Maverick County Lake between what is now the Motel 6 and Chili's. The hotel will actually have two accesses in and out of the establishment through both South West Drive which runs alongside Sears and Kohl's and you will also be able to access it through Chili's parking lot. The 35,300 sq. foot three-story hotel will house 60 rooms will have a magnificent outdoor pool and is a part of a large nationwide chain.
