A man wielding a broom was seen arguing verbally with a female at a residence when police were called in to assist.
According to a press release from Humberto O. Garza, Public Information Officer for the EPPD, officers assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to a residence on Timber Wood Drive in reference to family violence.
Officers arrived and encountered a male subject holding a broom yelling at a female.
The male subject was ordered by officers to drop the broom and show his hand at which time the male subject became aggressive towards officers who had to utilize the necessary force required to affect the arrest.
27 year-old Jaime Orlando Garcia was arrested for family violence assault and resisting arrest.
Garcia was presented before a magistrate judge and transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $7,000.00 bond.
