Stolen Vehicle Recovered on Nogal Street

    The driver of a reportedly stolen pickup truck was surprised by sheriff's deputies when pulled over on a routine traffic stop which yielded the confiscation of a controlled substance.
    According to a press release by the Maverick County Sheriff's Department, county units on patrol Sunday evening conducted a traffic stop on a reportedly stolen vehicle near the intersection of Nogal Street and Ebano Street.
    At approximately 8:12 PM, deputies detained a vehicle matching the description of white 2012 Ford F-250 and made contact with the driver, later identified as Ovidio Arellano III. Mr. Arellano was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing, where upon search was found to be in possession of clear plastic baggie containing Xanax pills.
    Mr. Arellano was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.     This case remains under investigation by the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and the Eagle Pass Police Department.
