Martinez advised the members of the association of the risk factors which exist in reference to poor heart health, the leading cause of death in the United States.
The presenter also added that symptoms may or may not be present when one first experiences heart disease, "Symptoms of heart disease do not have to be present for you to suddenly have a heart attack."
When Martinez asked those in attendance if they had ever felt angina, a very heavy feeling in the chest to what she compared to having an elephant stand on your chest, former Nurse Supervisor Peggy Stock said that in her case, she felt a pain in her lower back when doctors told her she had experienced a heart attack.
The gathering were very attentive to the well-elaborated presentation for which the MCRSPA are very appreciative.
Afterwards, the association handed out attractive red polo shirts which they will be wearing to their future trip to Austin in April which depict the County of Maverick surrounded by their logo.
The room was filled with highly experienced educators all of whom have directly or indirectly touched our lives and those of our children in the classroom and they continue to educate themselves at these gatherings.
