Mayor's Fitness Council Meets for 1st Time

The Mayor’s Council on fitness held their inaugural meeting on Thursday at City Hall where officers were elected, including Rosy Aguirre shown here (far left), who was chosen as Vice-Chair. The committee also discussed future projects that could improve the wellness of our citizens.     The initial meeting of the Mayor's Fitness Council took place on Thursday where the committee took action on items in a short agenda which included selection of officers and discussion of possible areas and projects in and around our fair city which could benefit the overall wellness of our citizens.  The committee  consists of the following members:    Terry Contreras, Lourdes Muñoz Perez, Sonia Tovar, Dr. Hector Alvarez, Hilda Martinez Caballero, Roberto Gelacio, Lety Villanueva, Gloria Barrientos, Rosy Aguirre, Lety Villanueva, Patty Rodriguez, Jerry Galvan, Lisa Cain, Elvia Ledezma, Blanca Doig, Rosy De Los Santos and Mayor Ramsey English Cantú selected Lourdes Muñoz Chairperson and Rosy Aguirre Vice-Chair.
    The two were given their oath of office and they proceeded to discuss ideas of what they would like to see as far as projects were concerned such as the novel idea of a challenge between the two high schools on who could lose the most weight, ideas of a possible hike and bike trail and the clearing out of a running trail on Veteran's Loop among others according to Ita Cortinas, Assistant to the City Secretary.



Comité Para  tener buena salud se reunen

    La reunión inicial del Consejo de la Alcaldía en Fitness se llevo a cabo el dia Jueves en  el cual el Comité adoptó medidas sobre los elementos de una breve agenda incluyendo la selección de oficiales y discusión de las posibles áreas y proyectos en y alrededor de nuestra bella ciudad de Eagle Pass, que podría beneficiar al bienestar y salud de nuestros ciudadanos.
El comité es formado por los siguientes:
    Terry Contreras, Lourdes Muñoz Pérez, Sonia Tovar, Dr. Héctor Alvarez, Hilda Martínez Caballero, Roberto Gelacio, Lety Villanueva, Gloria Barrientos, Rosy Aguirre, Lety Villanueva, Patty Rodríguez, Jerry Galván, Lisa Caín, Elvia Ledezma, Blanca Doig, Rosy De Los Santos y el alcalde Ramsey English Cantú selectos Lourdes Muñoz Presidente y Rosy Aguirre Vicepresidente.
    Los dos se les dio sus juramentos de oficina y procedieron a discutir ideas de lo que les gustaría ver en lo que concierne a los proyectos como la novedosa idea de un desafío entre las dos escuelas secundarias de Eagle Pass que consiste en quien  podía perder más peso. Ideas de una posible caminata y bicicleta de pista y el claro de un sendero que se ejecuta en camino del Veteranos blvd. entre otros según Ita Cortinas, Asistente de la Secretaría del Ayuntamiento.
