Maverick County Road & Bridge Director Ernesto Guevara informed The News Gram that he and his crews are busy working on road improvement projects in and around the Deer Run area as they were seen paving Buck Street.
Heavy machinery was laying a fine tar-based asphalt on the roadway as residents were asked to be careful in the work area as the $30,000+ project was clearly underway on this beautiful winter day.
“This street consists of 1,200 feet of pavement which we are doing with a paver, a pneumatic roller and a steel roller, Sir, which we are completing with material which arrived last week from Uvalde," said the Road & Bridge Superintendent.
"We may have some delays on future projects in the area as we are expecting rain this weekend, however we will address at least three streets in this area before moving on to other important projects across the county," stated Guevara who was supervising the work and his crews.
"We will also be working on Black Tail and one other street in this precinct before we move on to other projects."
