Uvalde, Texas –

    Southwest Texas Junior College President Dr. Hector Gonzales, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Dr. Cheryl Sanchez, and Dean of the College of Applied Sciences Juan Guzman have recognized 262 students for academic excellence during the 2014 fall semester.
    Full-time students, those enrolled in 12 or more hours, are eligible for academic honors. The President’s List recognizes those full-time students who maintained a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) throughout the semester. The Dean’s List recognizes those students who maintained at least a 3.6 GPA throughout the semester. A total of 136 students earned a spot on the President’s List and 126 students earned a spot on the Dean’s List.
    "I commend the hard work of each of these students," President Gonzales said. "It is a pleasure to honor their dedication to excellence." Eagle Pass students listed on the Fall 2014 President’s List include: Edson Anaya, Veronica Aranda, James Bunting, Alex Bustos, Gabriela Cardenas, Tania Carrizales, Anallely Casas, Manuel Cervantes, Luvin De Leon, Baldemar Delgado, Steve Garcia, Andrea Garcia, Maria Gleason Sanchez, Viviana Gonzalez, Luis Guevara and Edgar Jacquez.
    Other students from Eagle Pass on the president’s list are Sarita Martinez, Dalia Martinez, Oscar Mendoza, Lorena Munoz, Sandra Polendo, Aaron Ramirez, Ivan Ramos, Rudy Rodriguez, Koral Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez Jr., Jose Ruiz, Yoseline Sandoval, Tom Schmerber, Gurprit Singh, Janeana Sotelo and Diego Villarreal.
    Area students on the Fall 2014 President’s List include: Rosemary Ballesteros, John Cervantes, Frailan Flores, Trisha Garcia, Audrey Lopez, Robert Medina, Jessica Montes, Saida Ramirez, Ana Salinas, Joe Vera all of Crystal City; and Jose Bravos, Jimenez.
    An additional 31 Eagle Pass students received recognition to the fall 2014 Dean’s List including Cristian Acuna, Rodolfo Aguilar, Alysa Alvarez, Yessenia Bermea, Jesus Cuellar, Cielo De la Cerda, Rolando Delgado, Juan Diaz, Jacobo Fernandez, Christian Flores, Peter Gabriel, Oscar Gutierrez, Roxanna Herrera, Linda Hesles-Quintero, Daniel Ibarra and Ezequiel Luna Hernandez.
    Also named to the Dean’s list from Eagle Pass are Frailan Martinez, Lizeth Medina Sanchez, Monserrat Montoya, Jameson Nielsen, Ernesto Polendo, Yalixa Ramirez, Axel Rodriguez, Aaron Ruiz, Maria Salazar, Rogelio Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Adriana Torres, Michelle Trevino, Kallisti Upton and Kimberly Urbanski.
