Two people were reported injured in the accident, one of which sustained life-threatening injuries.  The passenger of the vehicle was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital, the other was taken to a hospital in Dimmitt County. The accident occurred at approximately 3:00 A.M. on Friday. The Maverick County Sheriff's department reported that the accident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The report indicates that the men were traveling in a pickup truck and reside in Carrizo Springs, both men work for Higdon Construction Company and work in Carrizo Springs. The driver was identified as Drake Chandler, 19, from Goliad, Texas, and refused medical treatment but did sustain non-life threatening injuries. The passenger of the Ford F-150 was identified as Adam Harmon, 31, of Conroe, Texas, suffered injuries to the neck and back and was airlifted to San Antonio. It has been weeks since the last accident had occurred in Maverick County. Authorities ask motorists to take the necessary precautions on Texas Highways due to the increased traffic in the area due to the Eagle Ford Shale Project.
