A water line break caused the early dismissal of students at Memorial Junior High on a cold, windy Tuesday morning.

Dozens of Eagle Pass Water Works System and City of Eagle Pass workers were busy attac- king the problem as heavy machinery was brought into the area to get to the break.

An official release from Melissa Gratkowski, Public Information Officer for the Eagle Pass Independent School District stated, “A broken water line near Memorial Junior High has cau- sed EPISD to send students home early Tuesday, January 13, 2015, and cancel classes for the entire day. Early dismissal time is 10:00 a.m. for all MJH stu- dents.”

As of 10:00 a.m. EPISD busses and concerned parents began picking up students who were on campus and returning them to their homes.

The water break comes in the wake of another similiar situation last week which caused the cancelling of classes at Armando Cerna Elementary.
