The approval on a proposed final plat of the Quirk Subdivision on the south end of Maverick County will welcome the coming of a new Stripes store according to City of Eagle Pass Planner Brian Shea.

Shea and several of his assistants were on hand on Monday at the Regular Meeting of Commissioner’s Court to answer any questions that the commis- sioners may have in reference to the pro- perty and the proposed commercial pro- ject. With the impending opening of Old Mines Road and the continuing develop- ment of highways and byways in and around newer developed areas such as Bob Rogers Drive adjacent to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, the area around the new EPISD Student Activity Center and even in and around Lewis Estates and Mancha Elementary, Eagle Pass and Maverick County are laying out the infrastructure to continue to grow by leaps and bounds. The proposed Stripes store could very well be the entrance to a residential area much like those seen in cities such as San Antonio off of Loop 1604 and Culebra.
