On Sunday at approximately 2:42 AM, an accident occurred which mobilized both the Eagle Pass Police Department as well as the Eagle Pass Fire Department who attended to two females injured in the wreck.
Both of the victims were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center to be attended medically for injuries sustained in the accident.
Police were able to obtain a blood sample of the driver of the second vehicle due to the severity of the injuries.
This person was later released and charges are still pending according to Humberto O. Garza, Public Information Officer for the EPPD, "If he is over the legal limit, the driver will be charged with Intoxication Assault due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the two females."
There was no further report as to the level of injuries sustained in the accident at press time as the EPPD awaits the results of the toxicology test.
