According to Daryl Fields, Public Information Officer for the Western District of Texas February of next year is when sentences will be handed down against in the corruption cases which face former Maverick County commissioners, employees and contractors which stem from bribery schemes and misuse of public funds and resources.
"The remaining sentencings in the Maverick County corruption case are currently scheduled for the last week in February," stated Fields, "Monday, February 23, 2015 will see three sentencings, that of Alejandra Garcia who was a former employee in the Maverick County Auditor's Office, former county commissioner Rodolfo Heredia and former county commissioner Cesar Flores." "Tuesday, February 24, 2014 will also see four sentencing hearings, those of Eduardo Rodriguez, Eduardo De La Garza and Jaime Flores and Jose M. Rodriguez."
"Wednesday, February 25, 2015, Saul Lombraña, Salvador Castillon and Marcelo Alvarez will all be sentenced and Thursday, February 26, 2015 former county commissioner Eliaz Maldonado, contractor Javier Gonzalez and Hector Chavez will appear."
All of the above court hearings are before U.S. District Judge Alia Moses in Del Rio.
Robert Pitman, Federal Attorney for the Western District of Texas, has reported that the investigation is still ongoing in Maverick County.
