Saturday's 130th Paint the Town event drew close to 20 volunteers from both junior highs and high schools including U.S. Border Patrol Explorer Scouts, Girl Scouts from Robert E. Lee Elementary.
The students are pictured here tending to and essentially renovating the park, re-painting the beautiful green fence and the dugouts which have been defaced with graffiti.
Diana Sanchez, of South Texas Rural Services, and organizer of these extremely beneficial events, would like to extend big thanks to her sponsors, Wal-Mart, the offices of Gerardo Morales and his staff at Pct. 1 & Maverick County Parks Director Isaac Rodriguez as well as their adult volunteers who supervised the youth throughout the day.
