Deputies observed a white mobile home fully engulfed in flames upon arrival and made contact with the homeowner, who stated that she had been noticing the smell of smoke in the front area of the home for weeks.
The owner added that the smell was emanating again from the same area and noticed flames shooting from behind a recliner.
The female and her children were able to exit from the home safely and Eagle Pass Fire Department crews were summoned to the location, where they were able to extinguish the fire.
Department investigators determined the cause of the fire was due to an electrical short circuit.
