The trial of US Marshal Mark Anthony Martinez, who on December 4th of 2009 was accused of sexual assault took place from Monday through Wednesday of this week.

The case was tried by The Honorable Judge Enrique Fernandez, State District Judge for the 63rd Judicial District in Del Rio.

Martinez was accused in 2009, but was not indicted until the latter part of 2013 when he was, according to legal counsel Greg Torres, falsely accused of sexual assault.

Prosecuting attorney Roland Andrade represented the state in this trial.

Testimony was heard by the twelve man jury from Officer Sergio Mendoza of the Del Rio Police Department, detective Ronzina Adauto who was in charge of the case as well as prior Police Captain William Rattay.

Torres called three US Marshals to the witness stand to testify in this case including Mario Pelayo Supervisor for the US Marshals in Del Rio  who testifies as to the integrity, qualifications and truthfulness of the defendant.

It took less than an hour for the jury to deliberate and return a not guilty verdict in this case further establishing Torres, who is in his twentieth year as a licensed attorney, as one of the top defense attorneys in South Texas having taken five sexual assault cases to trial and having five favorable outcomes for his clients.
