In a tragic turn of events, an undocumented male was crushed to death

in the parking lot of the truck stop at the corner of Highway 57 and

Highway 277 East.

According to officials who arrived immediately on the scene, the man

seems to be an undocumented male who as of Tuesday remained

unidentified.

The gruesome discovery was made at approximately 1:00 P.M. Tuesday

afternoon.  The man may have been attempting to board or exit the

trailer for transportation into the United States and was hidden along

with another mexican national in an area near the cabin of the

vehicle, possibly between the cabin and the trailer, but as the truck

began to move, the victim fell to the ground and the rear wheels of

the trailer rolled over his chest and head killing him instantly.

JP Tere Melendrez arrived on the scene to pronounce the body, but

there was no way to positively identify the body as he had no

identification whatsoever.

According to Judge Melendrez, he was a male approximately 30 years of

age who did have a cellular phone without any contacts.

EPPD informed The News Gram that the two men had hidden in the truck

and were looking to gain access to the United States in this manner by

hiding in the truck.

According to other witnesses, the other man ran into the South Texas

brush and avoided detention.

The Mexican Consulate has been notified of the incident and will

attempt to positively identify the body.
