"I started my undergraduate education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I went to medical school at UTMB in Galveston before returning to San Antonio at the UT Health Science Center for my General Ped's (Pediatrics) residency where I sub-specialized in Pediatric Critical Care where we take care of children age newborn to 18 years of age."
When asked how different life is on the West Coast as compared to Texas, Dr. K had the following to add:
"It was a great experience. Growing up in Eagle Pass, I was very familiar with community health centers, so I actually was practicing in Highland Park which is also a Latin community in Los Angeles with Spanish speaking patients in a community health center so I feel it's very similar to our hometown. In addition to that I was doing hospital-ice work at UCLA Mattel Children's in the Neo-natal ICU for the county hospital of UCLA at Olive View."
"Because of this experience I decided to return to San Antonio to specialize in pediatric critical care, ICU for kids and that ranges outside of the newborn period up to the age of 18."
"I came to Eagle Pass to practice General Pediatrics and for the upcoming three months I will be at the United Medical Center. I will be at the main location on Veteran's Blvd."
"I'm very excited to be home and I look forward to serve the community I grew up in."
