14U All Stars battling it out in New Mexico In Championship versus Las Vegas, NM

The Eagle Pass 14U All Stars have been battling it out at Bicentennial Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the 2014 Southwestern Little League Junior Softball Championship Tournament.

Coach Willie Ruiz' charges drew the toughest team in the tournament (Las Vegas, NM) in Game 1 scoring nine runs, but coming out on the short end of an 18-9 game which propelled them into beast mode fighting to avoid elimination and showing the determination and the game that have gotten them this far.

In the very next game, the Eagle Pass Stars scratched across four runs en route to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado All Stars on Tuesday.

Texas West, who represent the Eagle Pass Youth Baseball and Softball Association in Eagle Pass beat Texas East 19-0 on Sunday, then pummeled Louisiana 17-4 on Monday. The fifth-seeded team will have to beat New Mexico twice in order to advance to the world series.

Should they come out on top in these crucial match-ups on Wednesday morning they will advance to the 2014 Junior Little League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington. Results were not available at press time.

Team members include Karina Ruiz, Elena De Alba,  JoJo Gonzalez,  Connie Hernandez, Leenette Krezdorn, Daniela Rodriguez, Marichelo Flores, Lynet Gil, Emily Snyder,  Kayla Ochoa, Janessa Garza, Kayla Ochoa, Heather Ruiz and Isabella Ruiz.

The Team Manager is Willie Ruiz and his Assistant Coaches are Sonny Snyder and Mac De Alba.
