Agustin Aguilar, Scout Master for Cub Scout Pack 288 of Eagle Pass informed The News Gram of the intricacies of a very special presentation made by the scouts on Friday morning at the Holiday Inn Express.

"This event is commemorating what this country is about, what our foundation is as far as how God, country and family are very much the basis for this country," stated Aguilar, "Everyone who sacrificed their life for this country, the people that actually protect the it, border patrol, customs, DPS, all the police officers in the city, the troopers working in the state make it the country that it is."

Some of the members of the pack did the honors of raising the American flag in front of the building before bringing it back down and taking care of it as they should and as military outfits do in special occasions such as this.

"We've been practicing this week.  Mr. Albert Benavides, the manager here invited us and advised us what he wanted and he came up with the idea."

Sgt. Eduardo Jaramillo was in charge of training the cub scouts in the proper handling of Ol' Glory from a patriotic and military standpoint and the scouts followed his instruction to the 'T' as they marched out in unison to his cadence after the ceremony.
