Investigating officers discovered one of the subjects, identified as 17 year-old Luis Enrique Garcia had been involved in a physical altercation with a second subject who was not present at the time.
Garcia was placed under arrest for public intoxication and during the arrest began to resist.
Officers utilized necessary force to arrest Garcia who was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.
The second male subject identified as 17 year-old Norberto Herrera Jr. was also placed under arrest charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after he began to use profane and abusive language in a public place during the arrest of Garcia.
Herrera was later released from custody on a municipal court citation.
Garcia was later taken before Municipal Court Judge Francisco Martinez III for magistration and then transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of $4,000.00 bond for the charge of resisting arrest.
Also on June 17, 2014, an officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to the Wal-Mart Store in reference to theft of merchandise. The investigating officer spoke to Loss Prevention personnel who informed the officer that an adult female identified as 45 year-old Laura Escamilla-Rodriguez had been detained.
Loss Prevention personnel informed the officer that Escamilla-Rodriguez was seen selecting several items from the store and changing the price tags on the items. Escamilla-Rodriguez was then said to have proceeded to the self-checkout where she scanned and paid for the altered items.
She was detained after she exited the store with a total of $132.22 worth of merchandise.
Escamilla Rodriguez was taken before Justice of the Peace Dora Madera for magistration and then transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $1,500.00 bond.
Finally, on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, an officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to the J.C. Penney Store in reference to theft of merchandise. The investigating officer spoke to Loss Prevention personnel who informed that two females had been detained.
Loss Prevention personnel informed the officer that the two females had individually selected several items from within the store and entered a fitting room with the items.
The females, upon their detection outside the store were discovered to have concealed the items from the fitting room in a purse and a diaper bag.
The two females identified as 17 year-old Zureily Gutierrez Mendez and 24 year-old Dennys Mendoza Martinez were placed under arrest and charged with theft over $50.00 each.
Both females were taken before Justice of the Peace Dora Madera for magistration and then transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $2,500.00 bond each.
