SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Army officials say Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is in stable condition and working daily with health professionals after being held by the Taliban for five years in Afghanistan.

Maj. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo said Friday that Bergdahl will work daily with mental and medical professionals at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

DiSalvo says Bergdahl is in stable condition, though there's no timeline for his reintegration. But the Army also says it's pleased with Bergdahl's physical state.

Bergdahl was released last month following five years in captivity in Afghanistan in a controversial prisoner swap with the Taliban. He'd been recovering at an Army facility in Germany. He returned to the U.S. earlier Friday when he arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston.
