Washington –

U.S. Representative Pete P. Gallego (D-Alpine) announced a federal grant of $4,412,518 for United Medical Centers in South Texas. The federal funding is made available through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and will be used for continued operations.

“United Medical Centers provides affordable, high quality health care to constituents of the 23rd District of Texas,” U.S. Rep. Gallego said. “These federal funds will help the medical centers continue to operate in South Texas and provide top notch care to thousands of people. I’m grateful for their services and dedication to health care-needs.”

United Medical Centers provides healthcare services at 7 different clinic sites, which include Pediatric, OB/GYN, Family Medicine, ENT, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Dental services. In addition, they offer in-house services such as Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Family Planning, WIC, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

“Our commitment to serving patients of 23rd District of Texas is unwavering," said United Medical Centers Administrator George Kypuros. “We thank Congressman Gallego and the Department of Health and Human Services for always being there to provide UMC support and resources, which in turn helps us render the needed services in Maverick, Val Verde and Kinney counties.”
