Márquez falleció en el día exacto, un homenaje simbólico a un hombre que de acuerdo a un viejo amigo y co-propietario de Wickstrom Chevrolet, Pete Márquez, Jr., dijo que daría el sweater para una familia en necesidad.
Kelsi Heath, otro senior de Winn, recibió la Beca Maria Riddle, otra beca que se otorga en honor a un ex-educadora increíble en nuestra comunidad.
Ambos individuos tocaron el futuro en su tiempo aquí en la Tierra, y cuando Aguado recibió su beca puede no haber conocido el significado de la misma en el momento, pero Márquez le ayudó a un joven en la necesidad hasta el día de su muerte, y lo seguirá haciendo en el futuro.

In a fitting and timely tribute to a man who for many years worked to help the citizens of Eagle Pass and Maverick County, Luis Afonso Aguado was awarded the 2014 Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Pedro Marquez, Sr. Scholarship in front of hundreds of parents, brothers, sisters, family members and general well-wishers at the 2014 CC Winn High School Awards Night held on May 20, 2014.
Marquez passed away on this exact day, a symbolic tribute to a man who according to longtime friend and co-proprietor of Wickstrom Chevrolet, Pete Marquez, Jr. said would give the sweater off of his back for a family in need.
Kelsi Heath, another senior at Winn, received the Maria Riddle Scholarship, another scholarship which is given to honor an amazing former educator in our community.
Both of these individuals touched the future in their time here on Earth, and as Aguado received his scholarship he may have not known the significance of it at the time, but Marquez was helping a youngster in need to his dying day and will continue to do so in the future.
